From April 17\u201320, 2025, TRR 274 was represented at the booth of the Network of German Neuroscience Centers<\/a><\/strong> during the 17th International Conference of the Society of Neuroscientists of Africa (SONA)<\/a><\/strong> in Marrakesh, Morocco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For what was likely the first time, a country showcased its national neuroscience research landscape at an African neuroscience conference. The level of interest was remarkably high throughout the event \u2014 participants were eager to learn more about Germany\u2019s neuroscience community, research opportunities, and job offers, which we were able to share on-site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to raising awareness about the neuroscience landscape in Germany, the conference offered valuable opportunities to establish contacts with African neuroscience institutions. These new connections may prove beneficial for initiating future exchange programs and collaborative efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, the first appearance of the German neuroscience network at SONA was a great success. The Research in Germany<\/strong> initiative highlighted our presence in Marrakesh in both their newsletter and on their website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
